Burlington, WA – Barron Heating & Air Conditioning, a full-service HVAC, electrical and plumbing contractor in Burlington, recently created two $5,000 scholarships that will help people obtain family-wage jobs in the building trades without incurring significant education debt.
The Dan L. Barron Trades Scholarship, named after the company founder, aims to provide opportunities to individuals looking to enter the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical or plumbing trades and begin a successful career journey for themselves and their families. Barron Heating will provide two $5,000 scholarships to Bellingham Technical College: one to a community member and one to a current Barron Heating employee or employee’s family member.
“There is no obligation to future employment with Barron Heating to receive these scholarships — it is simply our way of encouraging and building up the ever important and rewarding trades field,” said John Barron, owner of Barron Heating. His father, the late Dan Barron, founded Barron Heating nearly 50 years ago.
“Barron Heating wants to reinvest in our communities and provide opportunities through the trades.”
Applications for the Dan L. Barron Trades Scholarship may be submitted at www.barronheating.com/scholarship/ now through Jan. 31, 2020.
