Mount Vernon Officers Investigating Death at Young’s Bar Along the Skagit River

Mount Vernon, WA – On January 4, 2023, at approximately 7:37 am, the Mount Vernon Police Department was dispatched to a death investigation in the 18000 block of N. Barker Street. This area is known as Young’s Bar, which is a Skagit River fishing access location.

Officers located a deceased female 47 years of age, with no obvious signs of trauma. The victim was not involved in a water related incident. Mount Vernon Police Department’s Investigators processed and documented the scene with the assistance of the Washington State Patrol’s Criminal Investigations Division, District 7.

Mount Vernon Police and the Skagit County Coroners Office are currently working to identify the circumstances surrounding her death.
