The culvert was damaged during the storm on Nov. 17 when debris crushed a small section of the 140-foot pipe. The broken culvert eroded the ground underneath the eastbound lane of SR 542. Dirt had been added to stabilize the area until repairs could be made. To keep drivers safe and to give crews enough room to fix the culvert, all traffic was being diverted to the westbound lane.
