BIG LAKE, WA – A 61-year-old man was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in a motorcycle accident at the Walker Valley Off Road Vehicle Park.
Big Lake Fire Department personnel responded to the report a dirt bike accident just after noon Sunday, Feb. 6, 2016. The accident happened about a half mile into the Walker Valley ORV Park on Peter Burns Road, and initial reports indicated the 61-year-old sustained serious injuries and was given CPR by bystanders at the scene.
Firefighters from Clear Lake responded for mutual aid to set up a landing zone at the Big Lake Fire Station and Airlift Northwest responded to assist with a helicopter, although they left without the patient, who was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital via ambulance.
The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office and Mountain Search and Rescue were also paged out to respond to the area due to the location of the crash.
