The Skagit Community Foundation is extending a call to action to address both the current COVID-19 emergency and future disasters impacting Skagit County. With a seed donation from the Foundation’s Board of Directors, the Skagit Valley Disaster Relief Fund has been created. This flexible funding source will provide critical assistance for 501(c)(3) nonprofits and other charitable organizations operating in Skagit County. Short-term urgent funding needs, created by an unforeseen event that has or will significantly interrupt essential services, now have a vehicle designed to keep our community functioning. We are calling on everyone to come together and build this safety-net, because much of the time, after the fact is too late.
