This week on the livestream roundup, I’d like to highlight Garrett & The Sheriffs. Their music falls under the broad spectrum of Americana, however they lean closer to the country side of the genre.
Although this band originates from eastern King county, they just as easily could be hailing from our own valley. Members of the band are heavily involved in raising awareness and money for the Washington National Parks Fund (WNPF). There is a bin at all their live shows where you can donate to this crucial non-profit organization. In fact, when I saw them live back in 2018, I purchased one of their CD’s and they were donating 100% of purchases at that time to WNPF. This had a deep impact on me …. I’ve never forgotten it and they consequently became one of my favorite out-of-County bands.
In addition to their dedication to preserving the state parks, they also represent other rural causes such as the preservation of farmland, wildlife, and environmental causes. You’ll often hear these themes reflected in their music, along with small town country values.
With the onset of the corona virus, Garrett Hendricks, lead singer and songwriter of the band, has been doing solo live streams, however this Friday he will be joined by Sarah Elder who is the violinist from the band. If you long for some good country music, please tune in Friday at 7pm. In other weekly news, The Sweeting Brothers are moving their live streams to Thursday. Sedro Woolley superstar Wes Jones is back on Saturday night. Chuck Dingee will be doing a special hour long performance on Friday (the monkey will be there as well) and the full JP Falcon Band will be doing a special live performance on Saturday.
Our weekly favorites Wayne Hayton, Brittany Collins, Savanna Woods, Miller Campbell and Kristin Allen-Zito all return at their regular spots.
