Fatal Accident: Southworth Ferry Terminal

Southworth Ferry Terminal, Seven miles east of Port Orchard, WA. October 3rd, 2014. The Washington State Patrol responded to reports that a grey 2012 Ford Escape SUV, was driving Eastbound on State Route 160, and the driver failed to yield at the ferry terminal traffic gate. The gate had warning lights activated, and the vehicle struck the traffic gate at a high rate. The driver continued down the dock and drove his vehicle off the ferry dock and into the water. Fire, EMS and Dive rescue units responded to the scene and later found the driver, Thomas Eisner, 60, of Belfair deceased at the scene. The vehicle was recovered from the water and impounded to Bethel Towing. The cause of the accident is listed as failure to stop/yield and there are no charges pending.
