Fatal Accident: SR532 at Hanstad Road

Island County: December 11th, 2014, 5:48pm. The Washington State Patrol responded to a serious injury, fatality accident on East State Route 532 at Hanstad Road, approximately 5 miles West of Stanwood.

According to the WSP press memo, 71 year old Michael Rossner, of Camano Island was driving  a white 2006 Saturn Vue,  westbound on SR532 near Hanstad Road when he crossed the center line and struck an Eastbound,  white,  2001 Volkswagen Euro-van, driven by Kerri Cunningham, 45, of Camano Island. 71 year old Michael Rossner, was pronounced dead at the scene. The press memo states Mr. Rossner, was wearing his seat belt.  45 year old, Kerri Cunningham, was injured and transported to Providence Medical Center. The press memo states it is unknown if  Kerri was wearing her seat belt.

Three passengers in vehicle two, all from Camano Island were:

15 year old, Lucy Cunningham, she was injured and transported to Providence Medical Center. The press memo states Lucy, was wearing a seat belt.

7 year old, Ruby Cunningham, was not injured. The press memo states Ruby, was wearing a seat belt.

11 year old, Liam Cunningham, was not injured. The press memo states Liam, was wearing a seat belt.

Dicks towing impounded both vehicles. The cause of the accident is listed as Vehicle 1, Over the center line and charges are not pending. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected in the accident.
