Fatal D.U.I Accident: SR525 near Clinton

The Washington State patrol responded to a two vehicle, fatality accident on North State Route 525 near Coles Road. This is 4 miles North of Clinton, Washington. 

According to the press memo, 46 year old Michelle Nichols of Clinton, Wa was Southbound State Route 525, just South of Coles Road in a 1988 Ford Van when her vehicle collided with the guardrail on the Right side of SR 525, then crossed the center line and collided with a Northbound silver 1993 Honda Accord, driven by 61 year old, Timothy Keil of Freeland. Mr. Keil was pronounced dead at the scene.  The causing driver was Airlifted to Harborbview Medical Center. She is now under investigation of Vehicular Homicide because Troopers believe alcohol is involved in the crash. 

The press memo states Mr. Keil was not wearing a seat belt. Next of Kin was notified by the Washington State Patrol and the Coroner. Both Vehicles were impounded by Scottys Towing to the Washington State Bullpen in Burlington. 

Both Directions of SR525 were blocked for 4.5 hours.
