Firefighters and medics from The Sedro Woolley Fire Department, Hickson Fire Department, and Prarie Road Fire Department responded to the 20600 block of Prairie Road in Sedro Woolley for a serious injury motor vehicle accident with entrapment. 9-1-1 callers had reported that a vehicle had went off the roadway and struck a power pole. The power pole was laying across the road.
Due to the possible serious injury of the accident, The Washington State Patrol was called to assist with the investigation.
According to the Press release from the Washington State Patrol, Donald Green, 62, of Sedro Woolley was Westbound on Prairie Road in a black 2005 Ford Explorer at a rate of speed too fast for the corner. His vehicle left the roadway, struck a fence and a power pole before coming to rest against a barn. The power pole was sheared off and blocked the roadway for about two hours.
Mr. Green was transported from the scene to Skagit Valley Hospital by aid crews. His condition is unknown.
The press memo states the driver was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol or drugs were believed to be involved.
The cause of the accident is listed as Wheels off the roadway and Driving under the influence.
Charges are pending.
The vehicle was impounded to Peters Towing.
