Sedro Woolley Cyclist Hit by Car in Alger

CrashAlger, WA: May 20th, 2015 7:19 pm. The Washington State Patrol responded with the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office and the Alger Fire Department to a high risk motor vehicle accident on Bow Hill Road near the Interstate 5 on-ramp.

Responding Troopers found a seriously injured bicyclist had been struck by a car in the intersection.

According to the press memo from the  Washington State Patrol, Rande Law, 47 of Marysville, was driving a 2010 Kia Soul, Westbound on Bow Hill Road.  She was making a left hand  turn onto Southbound I-5 from Bow Hill road when she struck an Eastbound bicyclist. The cyclist has been identified as  42 year old Tamara Wilson of Sedro Woolley.  The Cyclist received serious injuries and was transported priority to Skagit Valley Hospital where she was then  airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The driver of the Kia was not injured and the vehicle, while  damaged, was driven from the scene.

The press memo states the cyclist was wearing a helmet.

Charges are under investigation against the Driver of the Kia  for failing to yield to the cyclist.
