Mount Vernon, WA: On 09/27/14 Mount Vernon Police Officers were dispatched to the Mount Vernon Goodwill store. Loss Prevention had a suspected shoplifter in custody.
When Officers arrived they contacted the Loss Prevention Officer and suspect Sheila Murdock in the Loss Prevention office.
The Loss Prevention Officer told Mount Vernon Officers that they had observed Sheila Carrying around several socks and a pair of shoes. The woman entered into a changing room and exited a minute later without any shoes or socks. The Loss Prevention Officer then observed the woman as she walked out of the frton door, past all points of sale with paying for the items that were believed to be concealed in her purse.
The Woman was contacted outside the front door and admitted to the Loss Prevention Officer that she had stolen four packages of socks and one pair of shoes.
The Woman told officers she need the socks and the shoes.
She has been charged with Retail Theft with Special Circumstances, since this theft at Goodwill was her 3rd theft in 180 days.
Shelia was arrested on 06/29/14 at the Macy’s in Burlington for Theft 3rd and she was arrested on 06/29/14 at the Mount Vernon Safeway for theft.
The total value of the theft at Goodwill was $21.96.
Sheila Murdock is currently being held in the Skagit County Jail on charges of Retail Theft with Special Circumstances. She has two other theft charges for Theft 3rd listed as well as two charges of criminal trespassing.
