Camano Island Residents Injured in SR20 Motorcycle Crash

Motorcycle accident photoHamilton, WA:  June 7th, 2015. 1:32 pm. The Washington State Patrol, and Firefighters from the Lyman, Hamilton and Birdsview Fire Departments responded with Medic 1 and Medic 7 to a serious injury motorcycle accident on State Route 20 near Cape Horn Road.

According to the press memo from the Washington State Patrol,  John Baker, 56, of Camano Island was Eastbound State Route 20 near Cape Horn Road on a silver  2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he braked into a curve, causing his motorcycle to flip.

Both Mr. Baker and a passenger, 64 year old, Cheryl Baker of Camano Island were thrown from the motorcycle into the Eastbound Lane of State Route 20.

 

Medics transported both patients to Skagit Valley Hospital where they were both Airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The press memo states drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the accident.

Mr. Baker had a motorcycle endorsement and both riders were wearing D.O.T Compliant Helmets.

The Harley was impounded by Dave’s Towing.

The Press memo says the cause of the accident and possible charges are under investigation.
