The Final Riverwalk Concert for the season will be this Thursday, August 27, at 6:00 p.m. featuring the Hot Damn Scandal Band. Admission is free. Bring your lawn chair, a blanket, picnic, and the whole family to enjoy the last summer concert by the river. It will be a great way to wind down your week or jump start a fun-filled weekend.
Hot Damn Scandal Band features tipsy American gypsy blues to blue grass tones and is family friendly. This year, the first annual Riverwalk Concert Series has been a success!
The first concert in early July there were over 350+ local residents and visitors in attendance and more coming out each week. The Rabbit Wilde concert, held August 20, had the largest attendance yet, with over 600 people enjoying the show.
The new Riverwalk Park and Trail have been the perfect venue for the concerts. The beautiful setting by the river with the close proximity to downtown restaurants, and shops has been ideal. Attendees have thoroughly enjoyed the music – tapping their toes and dancing away.
The Riverwalk Summer Concert Series organized by the Mount Vernon Chamber and the City of Mount Vernon would like to thank its sponsors: Shell Puget Sound Refinery, the Mount Vernon Downtown Association, the Mount Vernon Marketing Consortium, Kaptein’s Ace Hardware, Rick Epting Foundation, and Dan & Jill Boudreau.
