School Bus Involved Crash on SR530 in Arlington

Arlington, Washington- October 7th, 2015. 3 pm.  The Washington State Patrol responded to a three (3) vehicle crash on State Route 530 near Milepost 25, about 4 miles North of Arlington.

According to the press memo from the Washington State Patrol, David Gidlof, 69 of Mount Vernon, made a left hand turn out of a driveway onto  State Route 530 in a red 1984 Ford Pickup. He failed to yield for a  westbound 1998 Chevrolet Pickup being driven by Frederick Lee, 75 of Arlington.  Both vehicles collided in the Westbound Lane of State Route 530 and then collided with a 2004 Bluebird School bus, that was being driven by Connie Gaston, of Arlington. 

The Press Memo states there were three middle school students on the bus that were not injured.  The Three drivers were not injured either.

The cause of the accident is listed as failure to yield and the causing driver will receive an infraction for failure to yield.

The press memo states drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash and all three drivers were wearing seat belts.

All three vehicles were impounded for safe keeping by Dick’s Towing.
