Everett Man Seriously Injured in SR20 Crash

ISLAND COUNTY- October 11th, 2015. 12:16 pmThe Washington State Patrol responded to a serious injury crash on State Route 20 at Deception road today.

According to the press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 86 year old Dwan Oliver of Anacortes was stopped at a stop sign on Lunz road in a 2003 Lincoln Town-car when she attempted to turn Southbound onto State Route 20.

The Press memo states she pulled out in front of a Northbound 1992 Suzuki GSX110  Motorcycle. The motorcycle was being driven by 63 year old Ronald Hockett of Everett. The Motorcycle collided with the side of the Lincoln Town-car.

The motorcycle rider was seriously injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The Motorcycle was impounded for safe keeping to Anacortes Towing.

The press memo states the cause of the crash was failure to yield right of way by the driver of the car.

Charges are pending against the driver of the car for “failure to yield right of way.”

The driver of the car was not injured and the vehicle was driven from the scene.

The press memo states the motorcycle rider was wearing a US DOT Compliant Helmet and had a valid motorcycle endorsement.
