Arlington, WA- A 32 year old man from Arlington has been arrested and charged with viewing, downloading and possession of child pornography. The man allegedly admitting to doing so during the pre-employment polygraph test he was taking while going through the extensive testing and hiring process to become a Mount Vernon Police Officer.
In May, during the polygraph, the 32 year old man, who is a married father, told the polygraph examiner that he has downloaded and viewed child porn numerous times since 2006.
In August, Arlington Police officers served a search warrant at his home and impounded multiple computers and hard drives. During their investigation, computer Forensic Investigators found over 300 Images of child porn on his computers.
Monday, Arlington Police Officers arrested the man. He is being held on $100,000 bail in the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of four counts of first-degree and second-degree possession of child pornography.
The Arlington Police Department says additional charges may be filed at a later date as they continue their investigation.
The Mount Vernon Police Department pre-employment hiring process is a very lengthy process. Potential candidates must go through extensive background check, as well as a polygraph to be considered for an interview with the department.
