GRANITE FALLS, Wash. – According to a Press release from Shari Ireton, director of communications at  the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office,  major crimes unit detectives have established probable cause to arrest 49 year-old George Hatt, Jr. for the murder of  31 year old Andrew Spencer of Granite Falls, Washington.  Mr. Spencer was a reported missing person from November 3rd, 2015 in Snohomish County, Washington.

  In the course of the investigation, detectives learned from witnesses that Spencer and Hatt had an altercation earlier in November over Spencer allegedly burglarizing Hatt’s residence.

Hatt is alleged to have shot Spencer, then burned and buried his body near the 21100 block of 133rd St NE.  Hatt is believed to have fled the area with his girlfriend about a week ago to California, where he was already wanted for parole violation.

Hatt is considered extremely armed and dangerous and anyone with information of his whereabouts should call 9-1-1 immediately. Hatt is 49 years old, 6’0” and 200 lbs with blonde hair and brown eyes.

Human remains were found yesterday (November 11th, 2015), at the location where the homicide is believed to have occurred and the remains  have been taken into custody by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner for positive identification.

Spencer, a 31 year-old Granite Falls man, was last seen on November 3 and was reported missing to police at that time.
