Man Arrested for Theft of Food from Food Pavillion

Sedro Woolley, WA- On September 17th, 2015, around 6:40 pm the Sedro Woolley Police Department responded to Food  Pavillion for a shop lifter fighting with employees and customers.

Arriving Officers found a male being restrained on the ground by several individuals.   When Officers attempted to place the male, later identified as Gerald Kahn (7/2/88) into handcuffs he began pulling away from them and grabbing at the Officers.

Officers were advised that Mr. Kahn entered the store and concealed $35.47 worth of food under his clothing and then exited the store without purchasing the items.

A female employee told Mr. Kahn that he could not exit the store without paying for his items, he shoved the employee out of the way and into a wall.

Officers found several food items concealed under his clothing after placing him under arrest and searching his persons.  The also located a knife in his pocket.

Mr. Kahn was yelling and screaming profanities at the Officers during this time.

 

Mr. Kahn had several outstanding warrants. Three warrants were out of the Mount Vernon Municipal Court for Criminal Tresspass, theft 3rd, resisting arrest and obstructing Law Enforcement.  Mr. Kahn also had one warrant out of Burlington Municipal Court.

Mr. Kahn was transported to the Skagit County Jail for an investigative hold for Robbery 2nd, due to assaulting an employee being injured during the commission of the theft.

Mr. Kahn was arrested on November 11th, 2015 and is currently being held in the Skagit County Jail for his outstanding warrants.
