Skagit County Auditor Jeanne Youngquist is pleased to announce the County has once again been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States for its 2014 comprehensive annual financial report.  This is the fourth consecutive year of receiving this prestigious award.

The comprehensive annual financial report is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“This award is a result of the dedication and hard work of all financial reporting officers in the Skagit County organization,” said Youngquist, “with special recognition to County Auditor Chief Accountant, Jana Robbins and her staff, who are directly responsible for the compilation of the financial statements and preparation of the award-winning comprehensive annual financial report.”

The comprehensive annual financial report application is judged by an impartial panel assembled by the Government Finance Officers Association to meet the high standards of the program including demonstration of a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story.
