Gainesville Police Respond to Call For Kids Playing Basketball Loudly In The Street

Gainesville, FL- A Gainesville Police Officer named  Bobby White,  responded to reports of Kids playing basketball loudly in the street on January 15th, 2016 around 5:31 pm.  The video, which is now trending online shows  Officer Whites interactions with the kids.

As you can see from the attached video, when Officer White pulled up to the location, he immediately observed kids doing what kids do best – simply having fun; not committing crimes.

The Officer not only took time to interact with the youth by shooting some hoops with them but he  also had  a huge impact on how they view Police Officers.

As the video continues more and more kids are seen coming out and into the street to shoot some hoops with the Officer.

After about ten minutes of playing, Officer White leaves the kids saying, “I don’t know who called but, obviously I have no problem with you playing basketball in the street, but if you can, just try not to be too loud. But have fun. I’d rather see you out there doing this than causing problems.”

Officer then tells the kids he is going to try and come back tomorrow with some backup to get a real game going.

A Job Well Done Officer.
