In the original video, Officer White ended up joining the kids for awhile and played basketball in the street and promised them he would “be back for a rematch.”

On Saturday, Officer White held true to that promise and brought additional police Officers back out to the court, just like he said he would. Officer White, also brought some back up that the kids never expected, and will never forget. Retired Basketball legend, Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal accompanied the Gainesville Police Officers and played some street ball with the kids.

The Police Department wrote on their Facebook page, “Shaq saw the viral video and wanted to meet Officer White but more importantly Shaq heard that Officer White wanted to bring some back up to challenge the kids to a street game. These kids will never forget the day Shaq rolled up to their house to play ball.”
Watch the video below Courtesy of the Gainesville Police Department: It has already been viewed over a million times on YouTube.
Shaq not only played ball with the kids, he mentored the kids, gave them some advice on how to treat people, took photos with the kids and signed autographs. All of this happened because Officer White did what Officers around the Globe do on a daily basis. The Police Department even came up with a clever hashtag as well #hoopsnotcrime.
