Wrong Way Driver Causes Four Vehicle Crash on SR20

SKAGIT COUNTY, WA- The Washington State Patrol responded to a four vehicle crash involving an intoxicated, wrong way driver on State Route 20 just East of Higgins Airport Way around 12:41 am this morning.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 28 year old Ashley Bryant of Glen Flora, WI was traveling Westbound in the Eastbound Lanes of State Route 20 in a 2013 Nissan Altima, when she collided Head-on with an Eastbound 2008 Dodge Caliber being driven by 19 year old Sierra Mcintyre of Camano Island.  Both Drivers were injured and transported to Skagit Valley Hospital.

The Altima rotated from the impact of the collision  and struck an Eastbound  2014 Freightliner Tractor Trailer being driven by 36 year old Satini Samifua of Tacoma.  The Semi had reportable damage but was driven from the scene. The driver was not injured.

A fourth vehicle a 1992 Honda Accord being driven by 19 year old Cassidy Potter of Salt Lake City Utah drove through the scene and hit debris. This information was corrected by the Wasington State Patrol***.   The Honda had reportable damage and towed from the scene, it was not totaled as first reported. The vehicle was  impound to the Mount Vernon Tow Yard. The driver was not injured.

The press memo states all four drivers were wearing seat belts.

The press memo also states that Drugs or Alcohol were believed to be involved in the Crash.

The cause of the accident is listed as wrong way driving and DUI.

The causing driver was taken to the Skagit Valley Hospital and is facing vehicular assault charges. **This information was updated by the Washington State Patrol in a corrected Press memo at 5:09 pm**** The Corrected Press Release,  removed the information that she was booked into the Skagit County Jail.
