Oak Harbor Man Stabs and Kills Girlfriend’s Son During Argument

AUBURN, WA — A 26-year-old man from Oak Harbor  fatally stabbed his girlfriend’s 21-year-old son Thursday February 18th, 2016 around 10:30 p.m. in Auburn.

According to Police Records, the woman’s 21-year old son tried to separate his mom and his moms boyfriend during an argument they were having. The mom’s boyfriend reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the son, killing him.

The 26-year old suspect fled the murder scene in Auburn and police put out an Attempt to locate (ATL) on his vehicle.   Swinomish Police Officers positioned themselves near the Twin Bridges on State Route 20 and saw a vehicle matching the suspects vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

The Swinomish  Officer caught up with the vehicle and confirmed the plate number as that of the suspects. The Swinomish Officers then coordinated with Anacortes Police Officers and conducted a felony traffic stop  on the suspect at the Country Corner gas station on Hwy 20.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Auburn Police Detectives responded and booked the suspect into jail on suspicion of murder.

Detectives applied for search warrants for the suspects vehicle and the apartment where the murder occurred.

The suspect has not been identified.
