Stanwood Man Injured In Motorcycle Crash

CONWAY, WA- The Washington State Patrol responded to a serious injury motorcycle crash at 4:16 PM today on the Conway Frontage Road just North of Fir Island Road.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 31-year old Justin Bailey of Stanwood was traveling  Southbound on the  Conway Frontage Road on a blue 2000 Suzuki GSX750 at a high rate of speed.  The press memo states the Mr. Bailey lost control of the motorcycle just North of Fir Island Road and crossed the center line and struck the guardrail. Mr. Bailey was ejected off the Motorcycle and came to rest in a field on the East side of the Road.  The Motorcycle came to rest on the West Side of the road in a drainage ditch.

The press memo states that Mr. Bailey was seriously injured and transported to Skagit Valley Hospital and later transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where his condition is unknown.

 The motorcycle was totaled and  impounded by Budget Towing for Safe Keeping.

The press memo states that Mr. Bailey had a valid motorcycle endorsement and was wearing a D.O.T. Complaint Helmet.

The cause of the accident is listed as speed and drugs or alcohol were suspected in the crash.

Charges are pending against Mr. Bailey for Driving Under the Influence.
