Snohomish Woman Arrested After Stealing Vehicle From Man Who Gave Her A Ride

Skagit County, WA- The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a stolen vehicle on February 1st, 2016 around 5:30 pm.

A man, advised officers that a woman had stolen his vehicle and wallet with several credit cards in it after he gave her a ride from Skagit Motel earlier in the day.  The man told deputies that he had to stop by his residence and when he went into another room, the woman took off with his wallet, keys  and vehicle, a 1999 Toyota Camry.

Deputies went back to the motel where the woman had been picked up and found the vehicle and the woman, later identified as Kiran Jain (2/14/86) with the vehicle.  The woman handed deputies two Washington State Drivers licenses for the man. Officers took her into custody and later found the mans car keys, and several credit cards on her person.

Deputies also located stolen mail that the woman was in possession of.

The woman was booked into the Skagit County Jail on suspicion of theft in the 2nd degree and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. She is currently being held in Lieu of a $10,000 bond.
