UPDATE: Mount Vernon Police Seek Info on Bank Robbery Suspect

Mount Vernon, WA– Mount Vernon Police Officers responded to a Robbery at the Chase Bank on East College Way around 5 pm Thursday March 17th.

According to Mount Vernon Police, the bank was robbed by a man who entered the bank dressed as a woman. He was also  wearing a, mask, gloves and a wig. The man is described as a white male, 5’08”, thin build around 40-45 years of age.  A photo of the suspect is below. MVPD Robbery Investigation Photo 2 3-17-2016

As the man approached the Bank teller window he demanded money from the teller.  The teller reported to police that the man did not display a weapon and he took off as soon as the teller gave the man the money.

Multiple Officers responded to the robbery, including a  K-9, but they were unsuccessful in locating the suspect during the search.

Investigators contacted the FBI which is a standard practice with federally insured banks and are continuing to investigate. No one in the bank was injured and police give credit to all the bank staff who handled this situation so well.

If you have any information on the Robbery or the suspect in the robbery, you are asked to call Detectives at the Mount Vernon Police Department by dialing 9-1-1 and referencing the bank robbery.
