Man Slips and Falls 30 Feet at Deception Pass, Rescued Next Day

Deception Pass, Washington– An unidentified  55-year old hiker fell about 25-30 feet  on the (North)  Skagit County Side of Deception Pass Bridge at around 9 pm on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016.

The trail the man was hiking on was a steep trail and he was unable to make it back up the trail after he fell and injured his head and back.  The man spent the night on the trail  and another hiker found him injured on Sunday morning and called for help.

North Whidbey Fire and Rescue Teams and Washington State Parks Department Personnel responded to the scene and transported the man via a fire rescue boat to Cornet Bay where medics transported him to the hospital.

The man’s injuries were not believed to be life threatening but his condition is unknown.
