Richmond, VA- According to a report from WRIC.com, a Mount Vernon, Washington Man was cited on Sunday for weapons charges at the Richmond International Airport in Virginia after T.S.A agents found a .22 caliber handgun in his carry on baggage at a security screening checkpoint.
TSA officers immediately contacted the Richmond International Airport Police, which responded and confiscated the gun and ammunition from the man. There were no delays or impact to regular airport operations.
Passengers who bring firearms to the T.S.A. checkpoints are subject to possible criminal charges from local law enforcement and civil penalties from TSA up to $11,000. It is unclear, what type of fine the man received or if he made it onto his flight or not.
