12-Year Old La Conner Girl Struck by Car

La Conner, Washington- The Washington State Patrol responded to a serious injury car versus pedestrian crash on Chilberg Road at Dodge Valley Road, one mile east of La Conner around 6:15 pm on May 3rd, 2016.

According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 68 year old Roberta Ewing*** of Mount Vernon, was traveling Eastbound on Chilberg Road at Dodge Valley Road in a 2004 Toyota Rav 4.

The press memo states that 12-year old Olivia White of La Conner was jogging along Chilberg Road at Dodge Valley Road and entered the roadway in front of the vehicle where she was struck.

The press memo states the 12-year old was transported by Medics to Skagit Valley Hospital. An Updated press memo was sent out that says the 12-Year old was later Airlifted to Harborview Medical Center from Skagit Valley Hospital, * where her condition is unknown.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The press memo says the vehicle was impounded by Carl’s towing for safe keeping. Originally it was reported by the Washington State Patrol  that it was impounded to the WSP Bullpen.

The cause of the crash is listed as inattention and charges are pending.  Drugs or Alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
