Troopers Respond to Fatal Crash Near Nulle Road

Alger, Washington– Firefighters and Medics from the City of Burlington and Alger Fire Department responded with the Washington State Patrol to a two vehicle high Risk Crash on I-5 near Milepost 243 this afternoon.

According to Washington State Patrol Sgt. Mark Francis, the causing driver was Northbound I-5 and left the roadway and struck an abandoned vehicle on the shoulder.   The causing driver, who has not been identified,  died at the scene.  Trooper Francis said he was not  not wearing seat belt.

This is a developing story and will be updated as we learn more information.

The Right lane of NB I-5 will be closed for several hours for the investigation. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
