Sedro Woolley Man Arrested After Crash Near Arlington

Snohomish County, Washington– The Washington State Patrol responded to a roll over crash on Northbound Interstate 5, 3 miles North of Arlington around 2:51 am on May 28th, 2016.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 36-year old Raul Vargasmeda, of Sedro Woolley was traveling Northbound on I-5 near milepost 211 in a black 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe when his vehicle drifted to the left shoulder, struck a guardrail and rolled over. The press memo state Mr. Vargasmeda was wearing a seat belt.  He was injured and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, vehicular assault and hit and run.  The vehicle was impounded to the Washington State Patrol Bullpen.

A passenger in the vehicle, 54-year old Irma Hernandez of Mount Vernon was not injured and the press memo state she was not wearing a seat belt.

Another passenger in the vehicle, 35-year old Veronica Yzaguirre, of Mount Vernon was injured and Transported by medics to Skagit Valley Hospital in Skagit County where her condition is unknown.

The Cause of the crash is listed as unknown.
