According to the press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 30-year old Brian Moriarty of Lake Tapps, was traveling Eastbound on SR2 in a black 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup when his vehicle crossed the double yellow center line and struck a Westbound 1989 Honda Accord in the left rear passengers door. The Truck continued Eastbound in the Westbound Lanes. An oncoming 1991 Tioga Motorhome driven by 23-year old Nolan Ward of Lake Stevens tried to avoid a head-on collision with the truck  and moved into the Eastbound Lanes where it was struck by the truck on it’s passenger side. After striking the motorhome the truck continued Eastbound in the Westbound Lane before striking a guardrail and coming to rest.

The driver of the truck was transported by aid to Colby then to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Neither of the other two drivers suffered injuries.

The cause of the crash is listed as under investigation and charges are under investigation.  The press memo states all three drivers were wearing seat belts.  It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.   The roadway was blocked for several hours for the crash investigation.
