Burlington, Washington– Burlington Police Officers responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the 400 block of West Fairhaven Avenue around 6:03 am on the morning of June 29th, 2016.

According to a press release from Burlington Police Department Detective Sergeant Eddie Rogge, a 42-year old male was shot in the arm at his residence.

The victim stated that he had been alone at the residence when he heard his door being forced open by an unknown person.
The victim told Officers that a subject entered his residence armed with a handgun. The victim engaged in a confrontation with the suspect and received a gunshot wound to his arm during the fight.
The victim was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon where he received treatment and was later released.
The suspect was described as a thin white male in his 20’s and was about 5’8” tall.
The suspect reportedly fled the area on foot and was not located by Officers. The victim told Police Detectives that he did not know the suspect.
Burlington Police do not believe the incident was a random act.
