Whatcom County, Washington– The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal vehicle vs pedestrian collision in the 500 block of West Hemmi Road around 9:40 pm on August 24th, 2016.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 57-year old Michael Kingma of Bellingham was walking in a private driveway when he was struck and killed by a 2001 Ford Pickup towing a 32-Foot Cattle trailer. The press memo states the Ford Pickup, Driven by 61-year old David Miller of Bellingham was turning around in the driveway when the pedestrian walked into the path of the truck and was struck.
Mr. Kingma died at the scene. Next of Kin was Notified by the Washington State Patrol and a Whatcom County Support Officer.
Toopers say Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the incident and the cause is under investigation.
