Whatcom County, Washington- The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal crash on State Route 544 (Pole Road) at Mecklem Road, 3 miles Southwest of Everson around 2:59 am on September 1st, 2016.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol a black 2006 Volkswagen Passat was traveling Westbound on SR544 at Mecklem road when the vehicle drifted to the right and struck a road sign. The vehicle continued into a tree and caught fire.
The Driver, who has not been identified by Law Enforcement was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle was impounded by BJ’s Towing for safekeeping.
The cause of the crash is listed as “speeds too fast for conditions.”
