Car Stolen During Burglary in Bow Used in Police Chase

Bellingham, WA – A car reported stolen during a burglary in Bow, Washington  was used in a high speed chase in Whatcom County on November 2nd, 2016.

According to Lt. Bob Vander Yacht, of the Bellingham Police Department, around 5:30 pm, a Patrol Officer spotted a vehicle  that had been reported stolen out of Skagit County.

As Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver  sped off and attempted to elude Officers, sometimes reaching speeds near 100 miles an hour.

The Bellingham Herald reports multiple agencies assisted with attempting to get the vehicle to stop, including the Washington State Patrol and the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver stopped on the Guide Meridian and jumped out and ran from Officers.  A K-9 Police tracking dog was brought in but was unsuccessful in finding the driver.

A female passenger was detained and questioned, but not arrested.
