Oak Harbor Motorcyclist Injured in I-5 Crash

Burlington, Washington- The Washington State Patrol responded to a serious injury motorcycle crash on the Southbound I-5 on-ramp from State Route 20 around 9:48 am on November 6th, 2016.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, a motorcycle rider was entering I-5 Southbound from State Route 20 riding a red 2005 Honda CBR600 when he lost control of his motorcycle.

The press memo says he crossed all lanes of traffic before coming to rest in the median.   The rider  was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

His motorcycle was impounded for safe keeping by Carl’s Towing.

The press memo states the rider  had a motorcycle endorsement but  was wearing a non-USDOT complaint helmet at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash is listed as speeds too fast for conditions and charges are under investigation.
