Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal dump truck verses vehicle crash on East State Route 92 near Lake Stevens around 3:26 pm on December 22nd, 2016.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol an unidentified woman was driving a silver 2005 Toyota Camry Eastbound on State Route 92 near milepost 4 when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail on the South side of the roadway. The memo say the vehicle then traveled into the Westbound Lane where her vehicle struck a 2008 Kenworth Dump Truck with a Side-dump Trailer being driven by 40-year old Craig Edson of Sedro Woolley.

Troopers say the woman died at the scene. The press memo states Mr. Edson was transported to a local hospital.
A witness on scene. who asked that we not identify them, said Mr. Edson’s only concern was for the driver of the causing vehicle and not his own injuries. “He was visibly shaken up before being transported from the scene.”

The Camry was totaled and impounded for safe keeping by R and R Star Towing. The Dump Truck was towed by Dick’s Towing.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Charges are not expected in the incident.

Note: Next of Kin had not been notified at the time of the press memo. The Washington State Patrol will release the identity of the woman once next of kin has been notified.
