Oak Harbor Woman Injured in Crash on SR20

Anacortes, WA – The Washington State Patrol Responded to a two car crash at the  Westbound State Route 20 spur near R Avenue around 11:12 p.m. on January 26th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol a silver 2005 Ford Focus was traveling Westbound on State Route 20 in lane two of two.

A beige 2013 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 54-year old Maria Cravy of Oak Harbor was also traveling Westbound on State Route 20 in lane one of two.

Troopers say the driver of the silver  Ford Focus accelerated to a high rate of speed and struck the Chevrolet Malibu.  The force of the crash caused the driver of the Malibu to lose control of the vehicle and it accelerated down an embankment on the right Shoulder. The force of the collision caused the Ford Focus to roll down the  embankment on the right side of the road.  The Driver of the Ford Focus then took off running from the scene on foot.

Maria Cravy was injured and transported to Island Hospital for treatment for her injuries.

The cause of the crash is listed as under investigation.  Charges are pending against the causing driver who fled the scene.
