Lynnwood, WA – A 15-year old Lynnwood male was arrested last night for making threats to “shoot up” his High School.
According to a press release from Shari Ireton, Director of Communications for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the male was arrested after several students told authorities that they had overheard the Lynnwood High School Freshman say “I’m going to shoot up the school tomorrow” and “I have a gun in my bag” in conversations with other students at the school.
Witnesses said that the suspect did not produce a gun, but that his statement caused anxiety and apprehensions within the school.
When contacted, the male first denied making the statements, then told Deputies he was only joking.
The unidentified male was arrested and booked into the Denny Juvenile Center for Investigation of Felony Harassment.
