Oak Harbor Man Dies in Crash After Suffering Medical Emergency

Oak Harbor, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash around 7:00 a.m. on March 30th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 74-year old Ralph Flores was traveling Westbound on State Route 20 near Milepost 23, 1 mile North of Coupeville in a 2011 Toyota Highlander.

Troopers believe Mr. Flores suffered a medical episode and swerved to the left. His vehicle crossed the centerline and left the roadway to the left before traveling through some brush and down an embankment. The vehicle came to rest at the bottom of the ditch.

Mr. Flores was transported to Whidbey General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The cause of the crash is listed as a medical.
