Valley Shine Distillery and Farmhouse Inn Restaurant win Mount Vernon Chamber’s Skagit Chili & Chowder Cook-off

MOUNT VERNON, WA — Two local restaurants won the Mount Vernon Chamber’s Skagit Chili & Chowder Cook-off on April 1st, 2017.

Attendees chose Valley Shine Distillery as having the best chili and the Farmhouse Inn Restaurant as the top chowder.

The afternoon event was hosted by Farmstrong Brewing who held a Skagit Malt Showcase featuring the beer of 8 regional breweries who all incorporated Skagit malt in their brews.

“A fun time was had by all who enjoyed the afternoon of tasting” according to Chamber C.E.O. Andy Mayer. He also said that the event was quite successful and that the Chamber would hold it again next year. A

Also entering this years cook-off were Cravings Bakery & Café, “Malty Mess”, Mount Vernon Farmers Market, and the Skagit County Dispute Resolution Center.
