Blaine Man Injured in DUI Crash in Whatcom County

Whatcom County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a single car crash on Kickerville Road just South of Brown Road around 9:32 a.m. on August 29th, 2017.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 24-year old David Dierks was traveling Northbound on Kickerville Road, approaching Brown Road in a 1990 Toyota Celica.

Troopers say the vehicle veered off the Roadway to the right shoulder and the driver overcorrected to the left, which caused the vehicle to rollover. The vehicle came to rest blocking the Southbound Lane.  Mr. Dierks was injured and transported to St. Joes Hospital in Bellingham before being transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The cause of the crash is listed as Driving Under the Influence. Charges are pending against the driver.
