Island County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash in the 800 block of Southeast Camano Island Drive around 4:25 p.m. on September 19th, 2017.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 73-year old Harold Becker of Mount Vernon was traveling Southbound on SE Camano Drive in a 1996 Buick Century, towing a utility trailer, when his vehicle veered across the center line into the Northbound lane and continued off the roadway. Troopers say his vehicle traveled down an embankment and struck a tree.
Mr. Becker was wearing a seatbelt but sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.
Troopers say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
