Kittitas County, WA – Deputies from the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a submerged vehicle around 6:40 a.m. on September 19th, 2017 near the Roza Dam Reservoir on the Yakima River.
Arriving Deputies found a submerged vehicle approximately 300′ downstream from the Roza Recreation area boat launch.
Rescue Divers from the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team responded to the scene and found a deceased adult male in the submerged vehicle. Rescue Divers recovered the man’s body and assisted a tow company with the removal of the submerged vehicle.
The Kittitas County Coroners Office identified the deceased man in the vehicle as 51-year-old Joseph Langdon of Burlington, WA. The cause of death is listed as drowning.
The Investigation into how the vehicle ended up in the river is ongoing.
