Burlington, WA – The Children’s Museum of Skagit County is hosting a FREE 3-day Family Friendly Winter Wonderland Event at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, WA on December 8th, 9th, and 10th!
The Free 3-day event will include activities for children, families, teens and adults both indoor and outdoor, so bring the entire family! Nearly the entire event is FREE this year thanks to support from the City of Burlington’s Lodging Tax Grant and a large amount of sponsors!

Starting Friday December 8th and Every Day of the event, there will be real Snow trucked in from Mt. Baker for kids to play in. Families will have the opportunity to learn about skiing and snowboarding as well as build a snowman, slide down a hill, try snowshoeing, snow painting and more!

2016 Bouncy House Inflatable
Once the family has had enough fun playing in the snow outside, they can easily head inside the mall to warm up. There will be several bouncy inflatable houses to jump and roll around in, like the one pictured above from last year’s event! There will also be a rock climbing wall, carnival games, face painting, crafts, mini golf, character meet and greets and other fun activities throughout the 3-day event.

“We are looking forward to another exciting event especially since this year it’s 3 days with more to do both inside and outside” said Jenny O’Brien, Marketing Manager for the Cascade Mall, “Winter Wonderland has the best of both worlds with opportunities to build a snowman, slide down a hill, visit reindeer and then head inside to warm up with the bouncy houses, mini golf, music, crafts and much more!”

Though admission to the event is FREE, each participant will need to register daily for a new wristband. This helps the Museum track attendee and visitor data and more importantly to plan for the next year!

Face Painting
SHOPPING: The Children’s Museum will be open as well as their Holiday Toy Store where kids can purchase gifts for under $5 for their family members and wrap them before they leave.
FOOD: There will be several local food trucks at the event with food available for purchase, so bring your appetite!

Friday December 8th, 2017: Indoor activities start at noon and end at 8:00 p.m. Outdoor activities start at noon and end at 5:00 p.m. Additional Activities will include, Costco will have goodies and information from noon until 3:00 p.m. Zumba from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. Star Wars Characters will host a free meet and greet from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, December 9th, 2017: Indoor activities will start at 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Outdoor Activities will run from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Additional activities include, Santa Breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m. (Registration is required), KAFE 104.1 FM will host a remote Broadcast from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Skagit Seedlings Nutcracker from 11:00 a.m. until noon. Northwest String Ensemble will perform from noon until 1:00 p.m., Caroling with Princesses and Photos with Princess Elena will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Costco Goodies and Information will be available from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Zumba from 3:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. and kids can write “Letters to Santa” at Macy’s!

Lang’s Horse and Pony Farm
Sunday, December 10th, 2017: Indoor and outdoor activities will start at 11:00 am and run until 5:00 p.m. Additional activities will include Zumba from noon until 12:30 p.m., Live Reindeer from noon until 4:00 p.m., The stunning Wagon and Horse team from Lang’s Horse and Pony Farm will be giving wagon Rides from noon until 4:00 p.m., Frozen Character Meet and Greet from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The Children’s Museum of Skagit County is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that opened in Mount Vernon in 2003 before moving to their current 11,000 square foot space in Burlington’s Cascade Mall. The mission of the museum is to provide an interactive learning environment to promote, encourage and increase an understanding of the arts, science and culture among children, youth, families and educators in Skagit County. The Museum is open six days a week and admission is $6.25 per person.
