Camano Island Man Dies in Crash in Snohomish County

Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatality crash on State Route 531 near 34th Avenue Northwest around 4:37 p.m. on March 10th, 2018.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 75-year old Lowell Jenkins of Camano Island was traveling Westbound on State Route 531 approaching 34th Avenue Northwest in a beige 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier when he lost control of his vehicle. Troopers say his vehicle rotated counter-clockwise, left the roadway to the South and rolled before coming to rest 20-feet off the roadway against a tree.

Mr. Jenkins died at the scene.  Troopers say drugs or alcohol were not involved in the crash  but Mr. Jenkins was not wearing a seat belt. The cause remains under investigation.

The vehicle was impounded for safe keeping by Dick’s Towing.
