Litter Crew Finds Human Remains In Snohomish County

Snohomish County, WA – According to a press release from Shari Ireton, Director of Communications for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, a litter crew picking up trash in the area of Downes Road and Fales Road near State Route 522 in Snohomish County found what appears to be human remains.

Detectives with the Major Crimes and Collision Investigation Units responded to the area around 3:00 p.m. and recovered the  unidentified Human remains.

The Gender and age of the person were undetermined. Detectives also recovered a suitcase and blanket in the same area.

Identification of the deceased person will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiners Office, as well as cause and manner of death.

This is an active investigation and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
