Police Respond to Stabbing Incident in Sedro-Woolley

Sedro-Woolley, WA –  Officers from the Sedro-Woolley Police Department responded to an assault with a weapon call around 9:00 p.m. on the evening of  July 24th, 2018.

According to a press release from  Sedro-Woolley Police Chief Lin Tucker,  a 23-year old local resident was found lying in the roadway in the 700 block of North Reed Street with a stab wound to the abdomen.  First arriving Sedro-Woolley Police  Officers provided First Aid to the victim until Aid units arrived.

A suspect described as a male, wearing gray pants, a dark shirt and white shoes was seen fleeing the area.

Sedro-Woolley Officers called for assistance in setting up containment in the area for the suspect.  Sixteen Law Enforcement Officers from several local agencies responded to the scene.  This included Officers from the Burlington, Mount Vernon and Upper Skagit Police Departments  as well as a K-9 Unit, Troopers from the Washington State Patrol and Deputies from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.  Unfortunately,  the suspect was not located during the search.

The stabbing victim was taken by medics  to the Emergency Room for surgery and Sedro-Woolley  Detectives are following up with him for further details on what led up to the stabbing incident.
